PDO thread lifts can be used to treat loose, sagging skin. Areas that can be treated include the mid-face, lower-face, and neck. Effects last up to 18 months. Multiple threads are inserted through a single needle hole on the perimeter of the face and neck down to the area to be lifted through a blunt cannula; once the thread is unsheathed, the thread is pulled up, the skin is massaged into a higher position on the face, and the extra thread is trimmed off. The overall effect is lifting, the appearance of loose skin is improved, and the jaw line is more defined. One of the benefits of thread lifting is that the threads are reabsorbed by the body and the healing action of the body tightens the skin. Insertion of PDO threads involves mild to moderate pain and no downtime. Mild swelling and bruising is expected after treatment, however, The Fairy ToxMother has developed techniques to minimize this. Makeup can be worn the day following treatment. For the first 3-5 days vigorous exercise should be avoided. Facial rest for 2-4 weeks is recommended to achieve optimal results, facial rest is avoidance of extreme facial expressions, opening the mouth wide, or any activities that could stretch the facial skin excessively. Back sleeping is also recommended for the first 2 weeks after treatment to facilitate healing and to achieve the best result. *Consultation required before booking to evaluate the skin and degree of sagging present.
